Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we don't, and how this site actually works today.
Healthy Meal Plate collects very little. There are no user accounts, no cookies, and no third-party tracking or advertising scripts on this site. This page explains exactly what does happen when you visit.
Information we do not collect
- No accounts — there is currently no sign-up or log-in system on this site.
- No payment information — nothing is currently sold or billed here.
- No cookies — we don’t set any, for tracking or otherwise.
- No analytics or advertising trackers — no third-party script on this site monitors your browsing.
How the free tools handle your input
The BMI calculator works entirely inside your browser. The height and weight you enter are used to work out the number on your own device and are never sent to us, never stored, and never shared with anyone else — we never see them at all.
The nutrition checker searches USDA FoodData Central from our server rather than from your browser, so USDA never receives your IP address or any information about you. We don’t store what you search for.
Information involved in normal operation
Running any website involves some baseline technical information, even with no account system or tracking in place:
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs technical information common to almost every website — things like IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested — for security and operating the service. We don’t use this to build a profile of you.
- Search. When you search the site, your search term is used only to return results and is not stored as a record tied to you.
- Site content. Our database (hosted with Neon) stores the articles and categories published on this site. It does not store visitor personal information, because there’s currently no account system to attach one to.
Our article content
Articles are published to this site automatically. The systems that produce and deliver that content play no part in your visit and collect no information about you.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children — in practice, this is straightforward today, since the site doesn’t collect personal information from any visitor.
If this changes
If we ever add accounts, analytics, cookies, or anything else that changes what’s described here, this page will be updated to match before that feature goes live — not after.
