Nutrition Standards
Exactly how our content is produced, what it means to call it general education, and where its limits are.
Health and nutrition articles on Healthy Meal Plate are published for general education and are not independently reviewed by a medical professional before publication — every article is general information, not individualised medical advice.
How our articles are produced
Articles are written for a general audience and published to this site automatically. We do not have a qualified medical or nutrition professional reviewing article content before it’s published — that’s stated here plainly rather than left unsaid, because implying a review process that doesn’t exist would be worse than having none.
What “general education” means
Every article is written for a general audience and covers a topic the way a well-informed overview would — not tailored to your specific health history, medications, allergies or circumstances. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and nothing on this site should be read as a personalised recommendation for you specifically.
When to talk to a professional instead
If you have a diagnosed medical condition, take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are making a decision for a child, please talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing your diet based on anything you read here. General information is useful for context — it is not a substitute for care tailored to you.
Reporting an inaccuracy
If something in an article looks wrong, outdated, or unclear, we want to know. Visit the Help Centre to tell us what you found.
